Privacy
What this site collects, and why.
sarathg.me is a one-person consultancy site. This page covers the main site and the subdomains I run for booking, mentorship and career tools. It is written to be read, not to be scrolled past.

Who is responsible
Sarath G, an independent application security consultant and trainer based in Kerala, India. Reach me through the contact form or on WhatsApp for anything on this page, including requests to see or delete what I hold about you.
Analytics and advertising tools
Three third-party tools run on the main site and on meet.sarathg.me. They load after the page has finished rendering, and none of them is required for any page to work.
Google Analytics 4
Counts visits and page views, and records which links and buttons are used, so I know which pages are read and which are ignored. Google sets cookies and processes an anonymised identifier and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google's own notice: How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Microsoft Clarity
Records anonymised session replays and heatmaps (where people scroll, click and hesitate) so I can fix pages that are confusing. Typed text in form fields is masked before it leaves your browser. Microsoft's notice: Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Meta Pixel
Measures whether people who saw an Instagram or Facebook post of mine went on to read a page or book a session, so that I can tell which posts are worth the time and stop showing ads to people who have already booked. The Pixel sends Meta the page you viewed and, on meet.sarathg.me, the fact that a booking was started or completed and its amount. If you have a Meta account, Meta may link this to it under Meta's Privacy Policy. Control this in your Meta ad settings, or block the domain connect.facebook.net with any content blocker.
Any ordinary tracker- or ad-blocker stops all three tools. The site does not try to detect or work around blockers.
What you give me directly
- Contact form on the homepage: your name, email and message go to a private Google Sheet and to my inbox. I use them to reply, and for nothing else.
- WhatsApp: a normal WhatsApp Business conversation, governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy.
- Booking on meet.sarathg.me: name, email, phone and any notes you add, the session you chose and its time. Stored in a private Google Sheet and Google Calendar so that the session exists, invitations and reminders go out, and a missed session can be followed up. Payments are taken by Razorpay; I never see or store card or bank details.
- Programme applications and mentorship records on folio.sarathg.me: what you enter in the application form and, if you enrol, your sessions, invoices, lab submissions and certificate. Kept for the duration of the programme and for accounting afterwards.
- GetHired (gethired.sarathg.me): a rule-based career tool. It stores your answers and results so it can show them back to you and, only if you ask, email them to you.
What I do not do
- Sell or rent anything about you to anyone.
- Add you to a mailing list because you booked, applied or wrote to me.
- Use the data for anything other than replying, delivering what you booked, and understanding how the site is used.
Retention
Contact messages and bookings are kept as long as they are useful for follow-up and as long as Indian accounting rules require for anything paid. Analytics data lives with the provider under its default retention (Google Analytics: 14 months). Ask and I will delete what I hold directly, except records I am legally required to keep.
Your choices
- Block the analytics and advertising tools with any content blocker; the site works the same.
- Use the opt-out links above for Google and Meta.
- Ask me to show or delete what I hold about you. I reply within a few working days.
Changes
If a new tool or a new kind of data is added, this page is updated first and the date at the top changes. Substantive changes are noted here for a while so that returning visitors can see what moved.
